Andi Papadopoulos (Left) MC's the event.  The donation presentation (Right) were the first checks the family will be donating monthly from their restaurant’s proceeds.  Prior to the ribbon cutting, Christine Roberts from the Virginia Lung Association (L) and Melissa Damiano (Ctr.) from Susan G. Komen For The Cure, an organization that fights breast cancer, receive checks from Patty Papadopoulos (R).  Patty Papadopoulos was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.  After successful treatment for the breast cancer; she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2007. 

The Colonial Heights Chamber of Commerce and numerous elected officials joined the Papadopoulos family to celebrate the opening of their new restaurant, The Flaming Pit, located at 2231 Boulevard.  The Papadopoulos’ are no strangers to the city as they operated The Barbecue Pit at the same location for several years.  The Opening Ceremony held July 24 at the Restaurant, included a ribbon cutting ceremony and a check presentation to the Susan G.
